It's the Year of the Snake and we're bracing for a blizzard here in New York. It will definitely be a different scene on the other side of the globe where firecrackers, parades and special celebrations will be happening for sure! It's a good thing Chinese New Year is usually celebrated all week long so us New Yorker's will be joining in the festivities once the snow clears.
In the meantime, I thought I'd celebrate by rounding up all of my Asian-inspired sweets on the blog. Hope you find something you like. Enjoy!
Triple Chocolate Black Sesame Cookies
Mini Honey Yogurt Cheesecakes & Pineapple-Orange Compote
Green Tea Ice Cream
Homemade Mochi
Matcha Milk Bread
Japanese Coffee Jelly
Japanese-Style Custard Pudding
Mushipan (Japanese Steamed Cake)
Matcha Marshmallows
Tofu Pudding
Green Tea Sable Cookies
To my family and friends who celebrate:
Wishing you a warm, blessed and Happy Lunar New Year!
新年好, 恭喜發財!

Happy New Year! We celebrate chinese new year at work with a big lunch because we have a lot of chinese expats. Maybe I'll make something fun from your list! Here's to a great year of the snake!
Some of the girls in my class were telling me all about the celebrations they would normally have this weekend! Unfortunately, there's not much happening in SLC for the Chinese New Year, but it sounded like a great time in other countries!! They also explained to me the difference between firecrackers and fireworks... apparently they use firecrackers for the new years!! ha! Well I hope you celebrate well this weekend. Take care!
@Vicki - Thank you for the New Year wishes. That's pretty neat how your work celebrates CNY. It must be an amazing lunch!
@Becky - Aww, maybe next year you and your students can plan a big celebration. I actually saw a video of my relatives setting off firecrackers in Taiwan - it's extremely loud! Thanks for the good wishes, friend. =)
